Privacy
How linkedto.me looks after what you share with it.
What we keep
- Your account: your email address, your username, and your password stored as a one-way hash (never the password itself). If you sign in with Google, the id Google gives your account.
- Your player: your display name and avatar (every player sees them), and your country.
- Your connections: friends and friend requests, the people you block, and whether your friends can see you in the world.
- Private messages between you and a friend, for as long as you are friends: ending the friendship (or a block) deletes the conversation for both of you.
- What you send us: reports about other people (kept for moderation), and feature requests and bug reports.
- Your story, for 24 hours, your points, and your money in the world: what you earned and what you bought with it.
- A sign-in cookie, so you stay signed in. There are no advertising cookies.
What we don't keep
- Where you walk and what you say in the world's chat: these pass between the people nearby and are not saved.
- Voice chat: your voice goes, live, only to the people near you, through our voice provider (LiveKit). It is not recorded.
- Pictures and films of the world: they are made and kept in your own browser, and only leave it if you share them.
Who else is involved
Our hosting provider runs the servers and the database, Cloudflare protects and speeds up the site, Google signs you in if you choose it, LiveKit carries voice chat if you turn it on, and an email provider sends password-reset emails if you ask for one. None of them may use your information for anything else.
Removing it
You can change your name, look and country at any time in Settings. Deleting your account (Settings, then Delete account) removes everything above at once, except reports made by you or about you: those are kept for moderation without the link to your account, though they may still quote what was said in the world.
Questions
Use "Request feature" in the world to reach us, and we'll answer. If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page first.
